Funky Fingernails

After my cleaning extravaganza last night I decided to have a little me time and do my nails.  For the past year I've been getting acrylics.  I got to the point that I hated the way they felt and I didn't want to pay for them anymore.  My nails have been trying to recover from removing them for about a month.  They are close to being as strong as they were before.  Lately I've been painting them red, classic and cute for summer.  Last night I decided to do something a little funky.  I started with a base coat.  I ALWAYS start with a base coat, it's so much easier to get the nail polish off later and you don't have to worry about staining your nails.

The next step was applying a couple layers of a pretty light pink.  I love the color because it looks classy.

I wasn't really sure where to go at this point.  I thought of doing the backwards manicure that is so popular right now but I didn't have any brushes that were thin enough to make a nice line.  So, I decided to do a half and half nail with black.  For some reason this reminds me of Barbie.

I felt like it was missing something so I added sparkle to the pink and then finished them off with a top coat.

I need to do a little clean up with a q-tip, but other than that I think they came out pretty good.
