Week #3 Recap

Reading an hour every day for a week was awesome!  I did end up skipping Wednesday because we got rained out of the field and I had other work to do all day.  However, I read well over an hour every other day.  When I say "read" I mean that I listened to a book.  I love listening to recorded books because I can still do other things, like drive a tractor, and get some reading done.  I use Audible and have a gold membership, it costs me a monthly membership fee but I get free credits and discounts on purchases.  It's the best investment ever!  This week I read The Cradle in the Grave by Sophie Hannah.  (If you want to see a short description, check out my other blog post HERE.)  It was kind of hard to get into right away because it lead the reader in all different directions and took a while to join them.  I'm only about half way through the book so I can't give a full report, but it is one I would recommend to friends that like mystery.  I also really love the lead character because she starts out as kind of a push-over but you soon realize that she's a tough cookie.

Do you have any favorite books you can suggest to me?  It's time to download another one.  :)

Other than my weekly challenge I did quite a few things this week.  I started helping with harvest on Monday but only worked until Wednesday afternoon when the rain showers showed up and stayed here until this weekend.  I've been taking lots of photos from the tractor, here are a few.

On Thursday I went to my parent's house with my two sisters and niece to work on crafts with my mom.  I took photos, but long story short, they didn't save.  I was able to retrieve one from my mom of the crafts we are created together.

Thursday morning I was informed that my favorite band, KoRn was in the Twin Cities (technically Maplewood) playing a concert at The Myth.  KoRn has been my favorite since I was a teen.  I've seen them in concert so many times that I've lost count.  My sis, Danielle, was the one that told me about the concert and since she went to many of them with me we decided to make a spontaneous trip.  We drove the 2 1/2 hours down, saw the concert (which was AMAZING by the way) and drove back all in one night.  When I woke up the next morning I felt hung over, I guess my aging body isn't built for that kind of trip any more.

This weekend I was out promoting the Alexzombia event that I'm organizing.  As the day of the event approaches I'm getting more and more excited and nervous.  This is the biggest event I've ever planned.  I couldn't do it without the support of my family and friends.  PunkRawk Kelly of Operation Happy Note deserves a special shout out for helping with advertising and music!  Operation Happy Note is benefiting from a portion of the proceeds of the event.  The organization provides musical therapy and instruments to veterans and those serving in the military.

I was hoping to get out to a corn maze, pumpkin patch, or other Fall activity, but it was such a chill, rainy weekend that I decided to stay indoors.  It was a great time to watch a couple scary movies and my Fall time favorite, Hocus Pocus!

All in all, it was a good week and it's not quite over yet...possibly going bowling tonight.  What a great way to end the week. :)
